Outdoor Kitchens BBQ Grills
An outdoor kitchen with a built in BBQ grill can be a great addition for any back yard. Outdoor living areas are gaining popularity in all areas of the country. These areas can add valuable square footage to a house for the families that really enjoy spending time out in the open air.
In the Syracuse area these are most commonly built out of brick pavers for the patio floor and the grill area is put together using segmental wall blocks by popular outdoor kitchen companies such as Belgard, Techo Bloc or Cambridge. Some of the materials used for the grill counters are granite, concrete, or limestone.
The grill area can have countertop space for food preparation and staging. Under counter space can be used for storage of items and cooking tools used when cooking outside.
The grill can be fueled by either natural gas or propane. Natural gas grills can be hooked right up to the gas line from your home which means never running out of gas again when making that big meal for the family. If you would rather take the easy way out and save a few bucks you can use a propane grill that can run off a basic 10lb propane tank. It is also possible to use your common roll-around grill and build the counter around it so you can just slide your grill in and out. This option would save money on purchasing an actual “built-in grill”.
You can add several different features to an outdoor living area to really give your back yard a cozy warm feeling. Many times the grill area is partially shaded by a Pergola. These are usually made out of wood and stained or can be maintenance free vinyl. Another added accent is pillars that frame the area.
Don’t forget about outdoor lighting. The tops of the pillars are a common place to put lights, under counter lighting at the grill area and landscape lighting that can showcase plantings or trees. Lighting can be the finishing touch on your entire backyard living area and can really create that WOW feeling.
